Hi Gary, the 'do no harm' ethos with the election approach I picked up from reading the introduction to Choices and Inceptions by Ben Dyke, when he discussed the various approaches to elections between Sahl, Mash'allah, and Al Kindi in his introduction to that book. It made a lot of sense to me as an approach, especially when I can not always be sure I have an accurate birth time for a chart.
which seems to flow from 1 out of 6 to 1 out of 4 marriages end in divorce, depending on how the parameters are defined.
