Beautifully written post. It's so sad watching it all burn down, but another reminder of the sheer force of nature and the circle of life. The song that comes to mind when thinking about this is Sunsetz by Cigarettes after Sex

I am going to have to give it a listen to. Thanks for sharing. I love discovering new music. My hope is that what is rebuilt in L.A. can be visionary taking into account our new needs for climate durability and sustainability. It does not seem like climate change is going to be easy on us humans.

Of course! I agree. I hope so too...and maybe this will make us all more empathetic to each other. Are you in California?

I am in Portland. I lived in Northern California from 1994 to 2018, and during that time had to evacuate from forest fires twice, but was fortunate to never have a home burn down while I lived there. After I left a small retreat cabin that was built for me burnt down.

I was thinking about how the Aries point represents the new, and how this is really an opportunity for the phoenix to rise from the ashes, so to speak. What do you think? With Neptune and Saturn joining at 1º Aries later this summer, perhaps some innovative and new urban designs came come forward?
