The Sun in Leo and creating content

The Sun today, July 22nd 2026, has moved into the sign of Leo. This is peak summer when viewing astrology from the seasonality of the Northern Hemisphere. Leo is a fixed sign, and during this time the ancient astrologers of Mesopotamia noticed that the Hot radiant fire of the Sun was fixed in the sky, with less cool mornings or cool nights than preceded Leo in the sign of Cancer, where Summer was coming into being, or the sign of Virgo which follows Leo, a Mutable sign where we begin to feel cool evenings and mornings again as the Goddess of the Seasons slips out of her Sun dress into her flamboyant, artful, and exotic fall colored gowns.

I have always been a fan of Rudolph Steiner, theoretically that is, because I have never ‘studied’ his works, but this quote I came across yesterday was baffling:

“The sun is very different from what the physicists of today imagine. They would be very astonished if they were to approach it: they would not find fiery gas but they would find something that causes any earthly substance to be sucked in and disappear. The sun is an empty space that exerts suction. It is not a globe of gas. It resembles a pearl in the universe, a suction globe with nothing in it that one looks for, but which continuously absorbs this mass of comets. The fine etheric structures of the universe, which are almost spiritual, are continuously being sucked in by the sun as nourishment. We still see today, therefore, this dashing against the sun. This should draw our attention, gentlemen, to something important. “

It is very counter to how we think about Leo and the Sun in Astrology. I imagine that Steiner was trying to explain subtle aspects of his cosmology. The Sun however is magnanimous in its generosity, fire, and spirit to life on earth, which could not exist without it.

From a quantum perspective, the Sun shines because atomic nuclei at its core undergo nuclear fusion, where hydrogen atoms under immense pressure, far greater than the pressure of being a liberal thinker during the Trump Administration, combine to form helium. During this process, a small amount of mass is converted into energy according to Einstein’s famous equation, E = mc².

That energy first appears as high-energy photons and other fundamental particles produced through quantum interactions. After a long journey from the Sun’s core to its surface, photons stream into the solar system as sunlight, while charged particles flow outward as the solar winds in all directions. Together, these quantum-born particles and electromagnetic radiation warm Earth, power photosynthesis, drive the climate and water cycle, and ultimately provide the energy that sustains nearly all life on our planet. The Sun is the creative engine of being on our Planet, without which there would not be suitable bodies for our Souls to inhabit.

As the Sun moves into Leo, it is time to focus on the Sun not as a gravitational consumer of the extra dimensional matter that is caught in its orbit, but rather as an emanator of creative being that allows Us to express ourselves.

Expressing Your Self

Here we are, in an age where expressing yourself is paramount. We live in a world where we have unlimited capacity to express ourself on a global scale as individuals. Post it on Facebook, Reel it on Instagram, Tweet it on Twitter, Skeet it on Bsky, Thread it on Threads, Snap it, Tok it, Blog it, Stack it, and no matter what document and express it.

It is a little exhausting, isn’t it. As an astrologer by profession, I must be a content creator. It is not personal, anyone who is self employed or owns a small business must be a content creator. A content creator, well, that embodies the Sun in Leo. It is not easy, really, every day one has to come up with a new expression of the day. One is emanating out into space, and space is filled with content, endless quarks of vibrating content. Content from other creators, content from AI, content from remixed content. It can be very daunting, and after a while many give up and get other work. But the work of a solo entrepreneur, whether spiritual entrepreneur, artistic entrepreneur, services entrepreneur has its rewards, that is, if like the Sun in Leo, you have boundless energy and capacity to continue to express yourself, and the support of those you love, and the world around you.

As a content creator, and whether we are by profession, or whether we are by hobby and casual social online interactions, we are all content creators. One should contemplate that what we create and put into the world helps shape how people think just as the rays of the Leo Sun help nurture life on Earth. When we put a comment or a story, or a photo, or an image into the world, with intention, or without intention, whoever reads it, thinks about it, sees it, reacts to it, or listens to it is going to experience an effect from that. The audience is not a sovereign ancient group of Greek Stoics or deeply earth rooted first people. Most of the audience is individuals like you and me, people who are trained by dopamine algorithms to be reactive to what we read. Does this cause us to have some responsibility for what we feed into our orbits? Well, yes, there is a moral imperative there to do good, to not burn others and stir their poisons of the mind. To do so, means to speak with clarity, with humility, with joy, and to encourage the virtues, the embodiment of the principle of the Sun in astrology.

The Sun in Leo, an expression of your self

This next month is an opportunity to express yourself. Can you take a moment and define who you are and what you would like to express. How you feel about your world around you as an intentional act of your being. Many of us are not there. We are reacting to the world around us like a boat being battered by waves. That is ok, it takes a life time to become a conscious being who is intentional. That gets over looked sometimes, the work it takes to be intentional, and to be responsible for the world around you. That work requires a tremendous amount of love, for yourself, and forgiveness and love for the world around you. Above when we were talking about the quantum mechanics by which the sun produces light, the photons that emanate from the Sun are Love. That is the symbolic correspondence. You emit love from your conscious being. There might be some people who chose to consciously emit darkness, they are dark beings, maybe we can talk about that when the Sun is Capricorn, or Scorpio, or something, that is not today’s topic. Today, as the Sun is in Leo, let us consciously express ourselves for the month as an exercise in Love.

Leo is intentional Love in it’s highest expression, and that is our goal, as heart astrologers.
