In the last week, Hollywood, and adoring fans of cinema were shocked to hear that Hayden Panettiere had passed away. Astrologers were expecting something like this with the Solar Eclipse in Leo, as Leo rules actors and actresses. Still, it was a shock that is was someone so young, beautiful, and capable of having a long life contributing to Americana culture.

Hayden is an American actress and singer who began her career as at avery young age, first appearing in commercials before moving into television and film. She was born on August 21, 1989, in Palisades, New York, gained early recognition through her roles on One Life to Live and Guiding Light, and then became internationally known for playing Claire Bennet in the television series Heroes. She went on to star as country singer Juliette Barnes in Nashville, earning two Golden Globe nominations for her role. Her film work includes Remember the Titans, Racing Stripes, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and the Scream franchise films. She had a compassionate heart and was involved in environmental and animal-welfare causes, particularly campaigns against commercial dolphin and whale hunting.

As an astrologer, it is difficult to look at Hayden Panettiere without immediately contemplating that Venus must have had an outsized role in her chart. She has a remarkable beauty, a soft and inviting beauty, that was innocent and compelling. There is a natural sweetness to her appearance, mixed with a luminous lightness. Venus has followed her into the rest of her life as well. She became famous through the arts, moving between acting, singing, fashion and the glamour of Hollywood. This is one of the ways we can see a dominate planet manifest in life, through their career, and how they are seen by others. Venus expresses our relationship to beauty itself, and the people and places where beauty, pleasure, art and attraction are compelled into the popular culture of the masses of humanity.

Hayden’s Chart and Venus

We do not have a timed chart for Hayden, but we have a rectified chart with a C Rodden rating, and it gives her Venus rising in the sign of Libra at the moment she was born. Venus rising often expresses itself as a very beautiful human. Venus is the quintessential compelling archetype of Beauty after all. Venus is in Libra, which makes it even more ethereal as it is ruled by an air sign, and we all know air signs are beautiful.

There are contradictory opinions about Haydens actual birth time. quoting Astro.com “Lepoivre quotes 9:20 AM from Panettiere’s profile at IMDb. IMDB spells her middle name incorrectly (”Leslie”) and gives her place of birth incorrectly as “Palisades, New York.” Under ‘Trivia’ it says that she was born “at 9:20 AM.” No source is given.” Palisades vs Nyack is immaterial for this analysis.

Sy Scholfield quotes birth notice, copy on file, The Journal News (White Plains, New York), 1 October 1989, page F2, “Hayden Lesley,” born on “Aug. 21 at Nyack Hospital” to Lesley and Alan Panettiere. No time given.

In her memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning, she writes, “My rising sign is Sagittarius. . . And my moon sign is Taurus”. That implies a birth time between 2:03 PM and 4:23 PM. 3:00 PM is an approximated time near the middle of that range.

I am posting how using a Sag rising chart vs a Libra rising chart would change the outcome of the reading at the bottom.“

The Natal Chart

But this Venus brings difficulty with it. It is squared by Saturn in the home. It is squared by Neptune, escapism becomes a challenge (the police scanner suggested she overdosed). Neptune conjunct the Ruler of her 5th house of children speaks to the loss of a child, and she had to give up her daughter due to addiction (Neptune), which must have tore her heart apart. More challenging though is that Venus is the ruler of her 8th house, which rules Death.

The Transits

I went to look at her chart as soon as I read she died. I figured it was the eclipse which occurred at 20º Leo on August 12th 2026. I thought it would be over a major point in Hayden’s chart, a point that symbolized death. But no, her natal chart does not have an obvious sensitive point to the eclipse. I am obviously foreshadowing here. However, it does have obvious indications of what happened! Remember Venus rules the 9th, tragically, Neptune in the 7th is opposing the natal Venus. She slips so silently into the void. Venus is hypothetically conjunct her Ascendant in this chart. The ascendant represents the life, the body, the incarnation of a soul. Venus ruler of the 8th, beauty and death, conjunct her place of embodiment, opposed by the planet of the void, Neptune. So softly, eternal slumber claims the sleeping beauty.

Hayden’s boyfriend was on again, off again. He was with her when she died, he had just had a court ordered restraining order keeping him away from her lapse. The ruler of the 7th here is Mars in the 12th, signifying drugs and hidden enemies. Neptune in the 7th, he was with her when she slipped into eternity. He plays a factor in this, but that is for his conscious and the law to figure out, not me.

Why now though? We have one testimony as to Venus signifying death, astrology likes to see the testimonies add up to confirm the hypothesis.

Secondary Progressions

The Sun, the giver of life force, has just applied by Solar Arc Direction and Secondary Progression (both of which move the Sun forward one degree per year) to the planet that signifies death (8th house) of the Self (1st house).

Ok, I want to say here, that I believe if Hayden had met a spiritual teacher and studied meditation, she could have avoided this. Neptune is the principle of escape from the material incarnate nature of a human being. That can come through meditation or through substances. Here it came through substances, a good astrologer with the right karmic connection to Hayden, would have attempted to divert her river towards meditation as a path to transmigration, rather than death through substances. I would have done that for her, if she was my client.

You can also see that the progressed Moon is in the 12th house, the 12th house of “Self Undoing.” That can come through Drugs, (or meditation!) But it came through drugs. We now have three testimonies towards self undoing, death, and substance abuse. But wait, tragically, and it is a tragedy, there are more. \

Solar Arc Directions

Solar Arc directions move the planets forward by one degree per year of life. We have discussed the Sun, but I want to call your attention here to the Moon, which in the natal chart is on the Whole Sign Cusp of the 8th house of death, has directed to trine the natal Venus. This is the fourth testimony to death at this time in Hayden’s chart.

I do not believe it is appropriate to predict death for a client, but if I had viewed this clients chart before hand, and seen this many markers, I would be concerned.

Back to the Eclipse

This is the Fardar, a Persian timelord system for Hayden. We can see she is in a Moon Sun period. The motion of the Moon and the Sun, and what is occuring to them then becomes very indicative of what the native will experience. We have a solar eclipse in Leo on the 12th involving the Moon and the Sun, as all eclipses due, with 4 other testimonies to death. Hence the eclipse is activated by time lords to be essential. Further more she is in a Cancer Profection Period, showing the Moon being even more essential!

That Moon is opposed to Saturn, the symbol of death, in the first house of the body, at the time her death. We are at six testimonies, the eclipse is incredibly important because it involves both the Moon as time Lord and the Sun. But wait… the eclipse is essential despite what I led you to believe earlier. For there is a secret chart within the chart. It is called the Duad, the D12, or the Dodekatemoria. It is generated through dividing each sign into 12 sub signs, or multiplying the degree and the minute of a chart point by 12 and moving it forward into the chart. It shows subtle, hidden, yet essential to manifestation aspects in the natal chart. When we do that with Hayden we get the following chart, with the eclipse.

You will notice that the eclipse occurs upon her Jupiter in Leo square her Venus (ruler of the native 8th of death) in the Duad sign of Scorpio (Death!!!) We have now established well over 8 testimonies to Hayden passing away at this point in her life. As tragic as it is, that this gifted, beautiful woman was taken from the earth, it was in the stars. May her soul find delight, joy, and peace in the eternal ever after.

In the Sagittarius rising chart Venus is still the term ruler of the 8th, the first term of the 8th is given to death. Hence the delineation of Venus which is the main theme of this writing is all still in effect in its timing of signaling her passing. Jupiter is then in the 8th and because Jupiter and Venus are square the geometry still works out. Impossible to calculate the D12 chart from a ... it was sometime when Sagittarius was rising chart.

Because Venus and Jupiter are in a tight configuration, either C rated rectified charts in the databank could work for the narrative of the passing of Hayden, as any significant life event unfolding for the 4º Libra rising would also be triggering Jupiter, hence the Sagittarius rising chart. There is a subtle and significant difference though which also makes the Sag rising chart compelling. That difference is that the Moon, which was highlighted as signifant by Fardar becomes the ruler of the 8th house. Further more the Moon progresses to a conjunction with Mars, ruler of the 12th, once again indicating death by overdose.

What to make of two different charts speaking to the same outcome? This is exactly what Geoffery Cornelius meant by “the moment of astrology” where astrology itself is a scrying mirror and different charts can show the same result.

There is an old question at the heart of astrology: what makes a life prosperous and well lived? In our current times, when material matters are at the height of what allows one freedom in life, prosperity is not separated from the larger question of how a life unfolds. Wealth matters. Reputation matters. Our work matters. So do our circumstance, character, opportunity, choice, and the strange turns of Fortune that carry one’s life in the many different directions we deem to be vital to a life well lived.

Modern culture tends to reduce career to occupation and prosperity to income, but does not consider fulfillment. or happiness. For this reason many people discover, often somewhere in the middle of life, that professional success does not necessarily resolve the question of meaning. A career can provide security, status, and considerable accomplishment while gradually becoming disconnected from the person living it. The external structure remains successful while internally we may lose our vitality and drift into an experience of meaningless routines. At the same time, we could live a life in pursuit of meaning, but experience a lack of resources to truly feel free and pursue our means. This is where some of the older ideas in astrology become surprisingly contemporary.

Traditional astrology contains a sophisticated language for examining livelihood, resources, Fortune, action, and vocation in the context of our own inner meaning. Read alongside a modern understanding of psychological development, these techniques offer something more interesting than simply identifying a suitable professional livelihood. They provide a way of contemplating the relationship between material success and a life that continues to feel meaningful.

To understand this, we can examine the second house, the Lot of Fortune, the Lot of Spirit, and the Almuten Figuris, or chart ruler (guiding Daemon of the chart.) By examining this deep soul questions can be answered in the context of how to be successful and live a meaningful life.

The Second House and the Nature of Resources

The 2nd house is traditionally associated with livelihood, possessions, wealth, values, and the resources that sustain life. Its condition, and especially the condition and placement of its planetary ruler, describe something about the way material resources are acquired, maintained, lost, or developed. There is a deeper implication here because a resource is anything that can be cultivated into value. The second house is a deep meditation as it rules not only our resources, but also our values, they are deeply linked and must be integrated for happiness to manifest.

Education is a resource. Reputation is a resource. The ability to communicate, organize, teach, negotiate, create, lead, analyze, or build relationships can become a resource. Experience accumulated over decades is extraordinarily valuable, although its value may remain invisible until it is placed in the right environment. This makes the 2nd house particularly interesting during periods of professional dissatisfaction. The question may have less to do with finding an entirely new identity and more to do with recognizing resources that have been developed but are no longer being used well.

A tree that has spent decades growing does not begin again from a seed when the landscape changes. It carries the strength of everything it has already become. The roots allow new flowers, branches, leaves, and fruit to come forth from it. Changing careers can be like pruning a tree, but a good prune can bring a greater harvest.

Fortune and the Conditions of Material Life

One of the most beautiful ideas inherited from ancient astrology is the Lot of Fortune, commonly called the Part of Fortune. Fortune comes from measuring the distance between the Sun and the Moon and adding that to the Ascendant. This is reversed in night charts. Fortune describes how we were embodied and our material circumstances. It belongs to the dimension of life that cannot simply be commanded through intention. Birth occurs at a particular moment, into particular conditions, with certain opportunities and limitations already present. The world continually adds circumstances that were never chosen, but come from what is around us.

This can be uncomfortable in a culture that insists success is almost entirely the product of personal effort. But how can that be. Modern sociology has proven that a large part of ones conditions come from the cultural influence of one’s parents and the environment of one’s youth. The ancient astrologers were considerably less sentimental about this. They recognized that effort matters, but circumstances matter as well, if not more, especially if one is not seeking the soul in one’s experiences. Some ventures encounter favorable conditions. Others meet resistance. Certain periods of life open doors that had previously remained closed, others may close doors which have been opened. Astrology is here to help give one a map of the timing of this eternal truth.

Understanding Fortune means developing a more intelligent relationship with circumstance. Prosperity does not always arise from pushing harder. Sometimes it comes from recognizing where life is already moving and learning how to participate in that movement. Timing is essential.

Spirit and the Power of Choice

Traditional astrology balances Fortune with another important point: the Lot of Spirit, or Part of Spirit. The lot of Spirit is the reverse of Fortune. It is taken by adding the distance of the Moon to the Sun, in day charts, to the Ascendant. If Fortune describes something about circumstance, Spirit brings attention toward intentional action, what we chose to manifest. It is associated with what is cultivated deliberately: vocation, ambition, purpose, action, the direction of the will, and we can even go as far as saying it indicates the purpose of our incarnation on earth this life.

Fortune might be imagined as the wind and Spirit as the setting of the sail, or the captain stearing the ship. Neither can be understood properly without the other. Circumstances alone do not create a meaningful life, nor does willpower operating without sensitivity to its circumstance. A skillful life emerges through the conversation between what arrives and what is chosen. The place where Spirit and Fortune meet is the Ascendant, and that is you.

This distinction becomes valuable after professional success has already been established. For most people early career decisions are governed by necessity, ambition, security, recognition, or the desire to establish a place in the world. Those motivations can accomplish a great deal. Later, a different question arises, especially if early choices were fruitful in creating the initial needed results. The concern shifts from whether success is possible toward what success is actually for. The Lot of Spirit speaks beautifully to this transition because it invites consideration of the underlying spiritual causes where intention is being placed for a feeling of being fulfilled.

The Chart Ruler and the Direction of a Life

Another important traditional consideration is the Almuten Figuris, commonly called the chart ruler. The The chart ruler represents the way that an individual orients to the world and finds fulfillment within the world. If you think of the Ascendant as the personality, the POF as the circumstances of the individual, and Part of Spirit as the internal drive, the Almuten Figuris is the experience of fulfillment. This is why it is called the guardian spirit or guardian daemon of the chart, because it is the wholeness that one always lives within, but perhaps does not recognize when we are focused on the details of living our daily body bound lives.

This can be particularly illuminating when professional identity has become too narrow. A person may spend decades becoming exceptionally competent at one thing while other dimensions of their soul remain largely uncultivated. Success can sometimes strengthen this imbalance because the world rewards what is already working. Eventually, however, the neglected parts of the soul or inner life begin asking for attention.

Psychologically, this can feel like dissatisfaction, restlessness, loss of meaning, or a vague sense that something has been completed even when nothing outwardly appears wrong. From an astrological perspective, these periods can represent developmental possibility rather than failure. One’s lIfe is simply asking to become larger than the identity that previously contained it.

Vocation Is Larger Than Career

The modern idea of career is relatively narrow. Vocation is older and considerably deeper. Vocation concerns what calls forth a person’s capacities and what there offering is to the world. For one person this may be their profession. For another it may involve leadership, teaching, mentorship, creative work, service, scholarship, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, spiritual practice, or some combination that changes throughout life. It might have nothing to do with how they make money, but instead be about what they do after they make that money.

A prosperous life therefore cannot always be measured by maximizing income, and meaningful work does not require abandoning material ambition. The more interesting question is where the unity of material success, psychological vitality, and purposeful action is, and how these very important life considerations support one another.

There is no inherent virtue in poverty, and there is no inherent meaning in wealth. Money is valuable through what it allows to grow. At its best, prosperity creates freedom to live ones fulfillment. It creates choices, time, generosity, security, beauty, experience, and the ability to direct energy toward what matters. This is where an ancient understanding of Fortune can meet a modern understanding of psychological well-being.

Timing and the Seasons of Professional Life

Traditional astrology never considered the natal chart in isolation. A life unfolds through time. Transits and other timing techniques describe changing periods in which different parts of the natal promise become emphasized. There are seasons for expansion and seasons for consolidation. There are periods when professional structures become stronger and periods when structures that once provided security begin to dissolve, or one needs to put there energy to other areas of life, such as relationships, family, or deep spiritual pursuits.

If because of outer world pressures or other peoples ingrained opinions about what your life is meant to be, we can become confused about what will lead us to real happiness. Dissatisfaction is often interpreted as evidence that something has gone wrong. Yet there are moments when dissatisfaction carries important information to us, information communicating that we need to evolve what our experience is in the world. An old professional identity may have accomplished exactly what it needed to accomplish. Its gradual loss of vitality can create the space required for another stage of development of our being.

The practical question is whether these moments call for action, preparation, patience, restructuring, release, or patience. Astrology is useful here because it restores the dimension of time in our considerations and gives us insight into who we really are as embodied souls on earth. A difficult period no longer needs to be understood as a permanent condition, instead it is understood as a moment of life inflection and given context by the whole life story. An exciting possibility does not automatically need to be pursued immediately, it may not even be what is ultimately fulfilling. Different seasons ask for different responses, and wisdom lies in recognizing the season.

A Different Understanding of Abundance

Abundance is treated as a synonym for acquiring more. That definition is exhausting because there is always more to acquire, this is the nature of the human world. There is never a point of satisfaction. A more useful understanding of abundance is their the presence of sufficient resources for life to continue unfolding in the manner of your choosing. Money belongs within that definition. So does time, relationships, freedom, purpose, curiosity, and the capacity to participate meaningfully in the world.

For someone who has already achieved a measure of material success, the next stage of prosperity does not look like the first stage. It may involve earning more. It may involve building something independently. It may mean using accumulated knowledge in a new way. It may involve reducing obligations, mentoring others, changing industries, creating a second career, or finally giving serious attention to something that has quietly remained important but has not been nurtured for years.

The astrology chart read by a competent astrologer does not reduce these possibilities to a single predetermined answer. It provides a symbolic landscape through which they are considered. Astrologers understand human beings as living in a world shaped simultaneously by circumstance, character, time, and choice. This is a remarkably practical idea for your life. So, there’s a big week coming up ahead. We have the eclipse. Now, eclipses tend to be something that impact everybody’s lives. You notice them going on around you. Whether you’re being directly stressed out by it or not depends on how it lines up with your chart. This eclipse is going to be at twenty degrees Leo. And so, if you have a pivotal point at twenty degrees Leo, then you need to be aware that this eclipse could be affecting you. Otherwise, you’re probably just going to notice it going on around you.

But before we get to the eclipse, let’s look at today. Today, August 6th, Venus enters Libra, and the Sun trines Saturn. So here is the Sun trine Saturn, creating an opportunity for structure and understanding, working through difficulties, and creating dynamic change in the structure of how something is unfolding.

Also, with Venus entering Libra, Venus rejoices in Libra. Traditionally, astrologers say that Venus is in its rulership in Libra, and what it means when a planet is in rulership is that it can do what it intends to do. Libra intends to create harmony. So this is a time when harmony can be created through diplomatic understanding. Whether it’s on a personal level, in your work, or in a community, diplomatic understanding becomes more of what the dialogue is about, rather than just the differences or the nitpicking details that might have been focused on while Venus was in Virgo.

So those are the two highlights of today. The Moon is also being ruled by Venus because the Moon is in Taurus, so this should create an uplifting energy for the day, even with the Moon being in the terms of Saturn for the rest of the day. Because Saturn, again, is being trine by the Sun, and the Sun has rulership and is exalted in Aries, there is this giving energy going on—this giving energy to healthy, constructive, and reconstructive dynamic phenomena that are going on in our lives right now.

If we go on to tomorrow, Friday, August 7th, the Moon is going to enter Gemini. It’s going to conjunct Uranus. As it conjuncts Uranus, there could be surprising news that comes to public attention because Uranus is in Gemini, the planet of news, conversations, stories, and intellectual brilliance. So you could feel a lot more energetically or mentally capable tomorrow than you did today, as today the Moon is in Taurus.

From August 7th through August 9th, the intellect is brilliant. Conversation is brilliant. There’s a lot to enjoy by having conversations with one another on Friday. This is a great day for short trips and good networking. It’s also a positive day for shifts and major developments to occur that help promote community understanding because that Moon is going to be trine Venus. So this is a very positive day, too. We’ve got some positive things going on at the start of this week cycle. Take advantage of it because it’s going to get a little bit heavy as we move into the eclipse.

Now, as we go to August 8th, the Gemini Moon continues to make harmonious aspects through the day. Well, let’s see. By the end of the day, it’s moving toward a conjunction with Mars. I don’t know—Moon conjunct Mars in the terms of Saturn is not necessarily harmonious. We have to look at the condition of Saturn. I know it was receiving the support of the Sun through the beginning of the week, but it’s no longer getting the support of that Sun.

So what is Saturn’s condition? Traditionally, we would say it is in fall and retrograde. This is going to become a very important component of the next week, as it means we cannot rely on authority structures to support us during the crisis of the eclipse. That’s because a planet in fall is a planet that is losing its status. It’s not capable of doing its purpose, and the purpose of Saturn is support. A planet that is retrograde is having to look at itself, and that makes it difficult for it to be supportive in the long term.

So by the time we hit Saturday, we’re feeling a little bit groundless going into this eclipse energy, especially with that Moon conjunct Mars. There is this fervor for a need for dynamic change. Conversation is very feisty on that day. Be careful with what you say to other people, or you could create disharmony. If you lead from the heart, ruled by Venus in Libra, you’re going to create harmony. If you lead from the intellect, where we have Uranus, the Moon, and Mars, it’s going to be coming from a place of reactivity, polarity, and a lack of harmony. So I’d suggest this weekend, the less you say, the better, if you find yourself in any type of dramatic situation.

Let’s move on to Sunday. We have the Moon going into Cancer. This creates a tone shift, so to speak, as we move out of this emotional and intellectual reactivity into wanting to come from the heart. But the Moon in Cancer is also protective of emotions, so you have to be careful not to trigger other people’s emotions.

At the same time, Mercury has just entered Leo, so it’s less about protecting the tribe and more about communicating your needs into the world. This becomes very strong. It’s a communication of who you are within the world from a place of your own individual creativity expressing itself.

At the same time, Mercury, as you can now see, is opposed Pluto, and it’s going to be opposed Pluto for the next three or four days. This is, again, about being careful within your conversations, because what you say can be heard by the community in a different way. That’s the impact of Mercury opposed Pluto in Aquarius. Aquarius is generally the community, and the impact is that you’re speaking your needs, but others may be hearing that you’re not caring for them or that you’re not thinking of everybody. So we’re still in this place where communication needs to be very careful. Tend to yourself. Care for yourself. Do what’s right for you, but don’t expect a lot of support from the world around you. Be calm, be patient, be loving. I think I say that a lot.

At the same time, Venus is opposed Neptune. Venus opposing Neptune here—Neptune is in Aries. This is the desire to create harmony and the illusion that anger is helpful. It is the illusion that something new needs to be done, because Neptune is illusion and Aries is something new. But that Neptune is retrograde. It’s not the time for putting forth that new vision. I would rely on Venus. Speak with a soothing, loving, gentle, communicative heart with whatever issues come up, and then you’re activating Mercury communication—your communication—sextile Venus, creating harmony. So that’s the way to angle that as we have the Moon in Cancer, meaning that there’s an emotional rawness as an overtone to the day.

We move on to August 10th. The Moon is still in Cancer. This is still very qualitatively emotional. But we do get an exact sextile then. Well, not an exact sextile, because Venus is actually moving really quickly. So is Mercury, which means situations are dynamically changing really quickly. We get an exact opposition between Venus and Neptune on that day. Someone is trying to create balance from a heart place. Others are just not listening because they’re too concerned about their own opinions, thoughts, initiative, need to create something, establish something new, or tear something down. Retrograde means removing things, too.

Again, Saturn in Aries right now is trying to tear things down, trying to tear structures apart so they can be rebuilt. It’s controlling that North Node, which is trying to find a new way forward for the community. But as it does so, it’s difficult. It’s not clear how it’s doing that right now because the North Node is being ruled by Saturn. This is very important because as we move into the eclipse, which is going to be on Wednesday, what you’re going to see is that it’s a very difficult eclipse.

I’m just going to skip to that. We’re going to move to the Moon conjunct Mercury on Tuesday. This is the need to speak for yourself, the need to be clear with your own authenticity. It’s going to be applying to Jupiter before it gets to the eclipse. Tuesday should be a really good day, honestly. That’s because the Moon and Jupiter conjunct always creates this sense of good feelings, good possibilities, and good hope. Maybe that’s not realistic. That can also be part of what the Neptune-Venus opposition, which we’re experiencing through the week, is going through. It’s creating unrealistic paths toward harmony and unrealistic paths toward how you feel good—unrealistic in the sense that there’s some type of delusion. There’s something not being seen in the air, so you want to be careful of that. You don’t want to rely on something that’s not really creating harmony.

So that’s part of the challenge of it. But again, the theme of this week is always just remaining true to yourself and maybe not saying too much because there’s a lot of opposition right now. There are a lot of hidden things being said. There are a lot of hidden emotions. There are a lot of hidden cultural connotations that are coming to the fore right now. Mercury, by Tuesday, is exactly opposed Pluto. This is speech that is shocking coming out, shocking revelations coming out as this aspect happens.

And it’s the balsamic Moon. It’s the dark Moon. So things are being undone that one was perhaps able to rely upon, because that’s what the balsamic Moon is always doing. It is always disassembling what was relied upon during the previous lunation. The previous lunation was in Cancer, as boundaries were relied upon. Emotional protectionism was relied upon. Perhaps tribalism was relied upon. The new Moon is now going to be in Leo. So that’s authenticity of the self, authenticity of one’s own creative vision being expressed truly into the world. That’s what to rely upon.

But it’s going to be tricky on Tuesday because we’re going to have that Moon-Mercury opposition Pluto, which is like this dwelling bringing forth of the unconscious mind and getting it out in the open. Be careful on Tuesday.

Then we move to the day of the eclipse. This eclipse is smoking, and, as I promised, I’m going to explain why. To understand eclipses, one thing you want to do is look at the nodes because that’s where the eclipses are occurring. The South Node is what has been relied upon. It is the clarity of a leader. The ruler of the South Node is getting eclipsed. That means the leader cannot guide in any kind of social situation. Be careful there.

And the ruler of the North Node, again, is Saturn in fall and retrograde. That means the path forward out of the eclipse cannot clearly be seen. It’s a structure that is not actually supportive in the long term. In addition to that, it’s retrograde. It’s going to be disassembled at some point and reassembled when Saturn goes direct. So we’re seeing an eclipse that is a severance of our expectations of our leaders, with no clear path forward. Nobody’s stepping up with a clear vision of how to go forward. It’s really messy. This is a messy eclipse.

It could play out on a national stage. It’s definitely going to play out with some political things going on with Spain because the eclipse shadow is hitting Spain. It probably means the passing of a ruler. I have theories about who that can be, but I’m going to keep them to myself. Although I would not be surprised if the President of the United States did, in some way or another, lose power, if you catch my drift, over the next six months with this particular eclipse. It impacts his chart, too.

Anyways, that’s the dynamic energy of the week ahead. Be careful on the eclipse yourself. Be careful of your heart because the eclipse is occurring in Leo, which rules the heart. Be careful of your shins because the eclipse is in Aquarius, which rules the shins. It’s opposing the North Node in Aquarius. And be careful of how you are within communities because this eclipse is very much about leadership struggles within communities playing out.

Bernadette Brady’s delineation of this eclipse is that, after a very difficult time and a very difficult crisis, the individual, the world, the group, or the community gets over it, and many new paths are seen forward. And that’s right. That’s what this Saros series is. That’s how you delineate it. But I’m saying that because of Saturn being retrograde and in fall, ruling the North Node, the way forward is not going to be clear for a while. We’re all going to have to sit and be patient for it. Probably the way forward from the crisis that one experiences during this eclipse comes when Saturn goes direct in December.

Anyways, sorry that this has not been as upbeat as I usually like to try to be, but it is an eclipse, and eclipses are difficult weather, and there’s a lot of difficult astrology out there right now.

There are good things. I guess I have to point this out. There’s also this good thing, which is that on the day of the eclipse, there is a grand kite formed between Uranus, Mercury, Venus, and Pluto. This is in the area of harmonious communication and conversation. So although I’m saying that there’s not a way structurally forward, there are good ideas coming out, and those good ideas will lead to beneficial experiences. So if you have planets early in signs, this eclipse is not going to be as challenging for you because of this grand kite as it will be if you have planets later in signs. The twenty-degree point is going to be very challenging.

The Eclipse and the President

The upcoming Eclipse on August 12th is at 20º Leo. Leo represents the leader, it is likely according to traditional texts that we see a Leader die during this eclipse cycle. This would be more likely if the ruler was under the influence of Mars during the time of the eclipse. It so happens that DJT is in a Mars profection Year. Further, Saturn, which indicates sickness will be opposed his Chiron and Jupiter, Jupiter rules his 8th house of death. He is in a Sun and Moon Firdar period, and the Moon in the triplicty ruler of death in his chart. Venus the Ruler of his MC is conjunct Neptune at the time of the Eclipse. He will not be under the “baleful rays” of the eclipse when it occurs, unless he flies to Spain!, so I am not going to predict his death, but the indications of this eclipse chart and how it effects him I would some up as sickness and loss of power. It is intersting that he is in a Mars ruled year, and despite being a “no new war” President, he is now a war time President. Of course, Mars rules war.

Enough about DJT though, everybody talks about him all the time and it is a bit boring, if you ask me.

The Eclipse and You

Bernadette Brady, who is a consumate master of astrological technique and wrote the definitive, up until this date, book on Eclipse delineation, The Eagle and The Lark, gives this delineation for the upcoming Eclipse Saros Series 10 South.

“Breaking out of a negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options.”

In a general way this would occur in the house in your chart which Leo is the lord of. You would see this as a process over the next 6 months, but perhaps with a striking immediate experience. The striking immediate experience is more likely if you have a sensitive chart point (Planet, ASC, MC, DSC, IC, POF or POS, ok even Midpoint) at the place where the eclipse is occuring (20º Leo)

In a more specific way, Leo rules the heart, so be careful of matters of the heart and the health of the heart if it is aspecting a sensitive point in your chart. The Eclipse and things in the World

Leo also rules leaders as mentioned, expect a Leader to fall from grace or to pass away and for that to make significant news. There could be the death of children in the news, which is always tragic. Leo also rules reputation, so a leader may have their reputation tarnished. Leo is said to have domain over gold, I would not be surprised if there was a sudden drop in the price of Gold or precious metals.

The Eclipse shadow is going to occur over Spain and as soon as we entered its window (the lunation before the Eclipse) Spain was crushed in Cueta by a massive influx of immigrants. The crises lasted in full for a day before it settled. After that the EU came together with stronger intention to work together on immigration. This is very much in accord with the delineation Brady gave us “Breaking out of a negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options.”. Watching that was quite stunning. I do not expect the crises to be over though, with the Eclipse shadow to still pass over Spain in 7 days.

The Eclipse, Steven Forrest, and the astrological community.

The Astrological Community is a drama space. At least in the social media realm. Certain transits, or aspects, stir up the continuum of the primordial astrological collective and events occur which create a good deal of emotional, intellectual, tribal, communal, and intentional debate. This is of course good, for it is nature of the human experience as a reflection of the symbolic movement of the planets, astral bodies, and stars to enact ancient dramas and battles and churn the ocean of history and human consciousness.

This is called Samsara in Buddhism, which the Tathagata said, “is an ocean of suffering.” What we, as souls in human bodies are trying to do is become conscious, and the way that happens is through experiencing and communicating what it is to be human to one another. That can include coming to a deeper understanding of how we discriminate unconsciously or consciously agains other humans, who, just want to be happy and be loved. It can also include expressing to others how they discriminate against us, either unconsciously or consciously.

My experience of time is informed by a deep understanding of the transmigration of the soul through the process of reincarnation. It is palpable, not just intellectual for me. I imagine for some of you who read my words, that is also the case. This causes me to be very careful and sensitive to how my actions impact others (I don’t always get it right, I am a human, which means I have flaws I am working on, genetic, societal, educational, and intellectual flaws) because I have meditated and remembered extensively that it is possible to be reborn in anyone else’s shoes or fins.

Steven Forrest opens the community wound of Racism

What happened to the astrological community in this eclipse window was the fall of a leader, guru, teacher of many, from grace amongst young BIPOC astrologers. Evolutionary Astrologer Steven Forrest went on a Podcast/Youtube video with an African American student and friend and used racial slurs, described his family history of being key founders of the Ku Klux Klan, and attempted to give historical justification for the clan having a raison d’etre other than just being a flat out organization for discrimination and suppression of African Americans. I don’t know Steven Forrest, I think he probably generally has a good heart, but he really screwed the pooch on this one, so to speak, and remarkably unaware of the impact on the astrological community his words would have. His speech has caused a serious division within the American Astrological community, if not world wide astrological community. Racism is a false and harmful construct that is meant to divide people, and has no place in the art of astrology or in the human world. All people are equal in trying to be happy and feel love. Astrology is a language and so people who speak it may be racist, or they may not be, just as someone who speaks English may, or may not be racist, but when one becomes an astrologer, one is counseling others how to be good humans and it is imperative to be aware of how humans experience what you say. If you say something off, recognize it, correct yourself, and immediately learn from it and become a better human.

Tragically, Steven Forrest was not capable of doing that at this time, so a community lay divided. Remember Brady’s delineation, “Breaking out of a negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options.” This delineation promises that the astrological community will mend and heal from this event, but right now, it is in the thick of the Eclipse with it. This has already stained the upcoming United Astrology Conference, which is meant to be a celebration of the practice of astrology, with a strong cadre of people advocating for Steven Forrest to be removed as a teacher and speaker at the conference, and another group having paid already prepaid to see him because they find value in his work. These two views will not be reconciled easily amongst astrologers.

It is my prayer that this event will bring illumination to the power of language, the effect of latent or present discrimination, and the importance of love, dialogue, and appreciation for all astrologers and peoples of the earth in their commonality and differences. Everything is a learning opportunity on how to become a better human for the world around us.

Hello, heart astrologers, and welcome to the weekly forecast. Today is Thursday, July 23rd. First of all, I want to thank you for being a Patreon or Substack subscriber. Your contribution helps me continue to be a professional astrologer, and it is immensely appreciated. I love this work, and I could not do it without you, so thank you so much.

Now, I’m going to offer my reflections for the week ahead, moving from today through next Wednesday, as I usually do. First, I want to say a hearty congratulations to everyone for surviving Mercury retrograde. Mercury stations direct today at 16 degrees Cancer, and it will now start moving forward. That means miscommunications can begin becoming communications again. Ideas and thoughts that may have been stuck in reverse can start moving forward. The time of fearing contracts is over, and it is time to move ahead, communicate again, and become healthy again within the context of your own being.

That said, Mercury stations direct while the Moon is void of course in Scorpio, so do not expect huge traction or major action today. We also get to welcome the Sun in Leo, and if you have seen any of my writings, you know I am a big fan of the Sun in Leo because I believe it expresses the truth of our creativity and love. Being creative is the essence of being human. With the Sun in Leo, we all get to practice creativity for a month: the love of creativity and the expression of ourselves as love through creativity, however we personally do that.

The way you express creativity changes over the course of a lifetime, as we all know. But the essence of being human is being a creative, loving being. This is something you will not get from AI. The more we focus on what it means to be human, the more we develop the qualities and skills necessary to continue thriving as humanity moves into the age of information technology, light, and energy, which will most likely be dominated by artificial intelligence—the most efficient thing that has ever existed on this planet. We, as humans, need to find our place within that context, and our place is creative love, because we are the ultimate expressions of that.

Within Vajrayana Buddhism, and within Buddhism in general, there is the concept of the precious human rebirth. The precious human rebirth means there is a quality to being human that no other beings in the universe possess. That is why Earth is so rare: it contains human life, and hopefully it will do so for thousands and thousands of years to come.

What is precious about human life? In the context of Buddhism, what is precious is the ability to use human life to cultivate love, awareness, and the realization of your own Buddha nature. That is a principle I think is very strong within the context of the Sun in Leo. What is love? What is consciousness? What is creativity in relationship to that consciousness?

Creativity may be a little different from what is usually described in classical Buddhist texts, but if you were to ask someone like Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche—that rascal of being, speaking of Mercury tricksters and retrograde—I imagine he might say creativity is a quality of conscious awareness unfolding within the universe. I may be wrong; I am not Chögyam Trungpa. But I would say there is some kind of sublime natural intelligence that comes with creativity, and that creativity is a precious quality of being human.

Hello and welcome, Heart Astrologers, patrons, and Back subscribers. Thank you so much for supporting my work as an astrologer. Here I am with the forecast for Friday, July 17. I’m a little late this week because it has been very, very busy, but I’m here to look at what is coming up over the next several days. This is a big week. I don’t know if you have been paying attention to the “Barbault’s Basket” phenomenon in the astrological world, but people are very excited about it. French astrologer André Barbault, who predicted a pandemic before COVID, died in 2019 and did not live to see that prediction come true. He also predicted that the period we are living through now would mark an epoch-changing transformation into a world of cultural enlightenment. It may not feel that way right now, but he was looking at how Neptune would be sextile Uranus, Uranus would be sextile Jupiter, Neptune would also be sextile Pluto, and Jupiter and Pluto would oppose each other. He called this configuration Barbault’s Basket. He described it as a wonderful, transformative influence that could change civilization in a positive way. Looking back through history, he found similar configurations during times when society changed significantly.

You may be feeling as though everything is difficult or unpleasant right now, especially if you are in the United States and paying attention to American politics. It can feel very rough. But that is often the nature of epochal change. What is this change? Could it be AI? A lot of people are critical of AI, but it is possible that AI has benefits we do not yet fully understand. We simply do not know how the world soul works, turns, and ruminates. If someone had lived during the time of the Mongols, that period may have seemed horrible, and yet some benefit emerged from the spread of culture between East and West. Throughout history, there are many times when the suffering of an era appears terrible, but what eventually comes out of it is a better civilization. This is what Barbault was proposing may be happening now.

If you are having a hard time, let’s talk about that, because I think what is really intensifying the difficulty is Pluto opposing Jupiter. We experience this influence until July 21. Jupiter moves into four degrees Leo tomorrow, opposing Pluto exactly. This can represent an expanded sense of self coming into tension with the sacrifice of self as the world changes and transforms. This is where many of us may feel deeply uncomfortable right now, and that energy is with us all week. My advice, as I said on Instagram today, is to focus on what you want to manifest this week. Focus on where you want to be. Where your attention goes shapes your experience. If your attention is on what is going well and on what you are positively manifesting for yourself, you are more likely to notice positive experiences. If your attention is on suffering or on what is wrong with the world, you will see that, and it may feel energetic, stark, bright, and dynamic. Be aware of this as you move through the week.

This week starts out with the Moon in Taurus. Now, the Moon in Taurus is also accompanied by Neptune station retrograde. Neptune station retrograde is just starting to creep forward in its retrograde motion after having been stationed for the last four days. This station has caused a bit of obscuration, or hidden kind factors that have been uncertain. One of which has been: is Mitch McConnell alive, or is Mitch McConnell not alive, or is he in a brain coma? A very Neptune station question that the US populace has been dealing with.

Likewise, as we move into the week, we have Mercury moving into max combustion. Mercury moving into max combustion is confusion. Uh, confusion especially about communications and about travel. So if you’re traveling this week, do be careful. You’ll notice that President Trump had to switch Air Force Ones yesterday with Mercury in retrograde. Now, isn’t that a Mercury retrograde phenomena worth noting?

As we move into tomorrow, which is Friday, July tenth, twenty twenty-six, that Mercury retrograde is going to become even more combust, amping up the intensity. Be prepared for a few days of miscommunication as a possibility, and be very clear in what you say, or stay silent as the Pythagoreans of old used to do in order to avoid miscommunication. I believe it was Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche who said, “Sentient beings miscommunicate by the very nature of being sentient beings.” So it is impossible to have pure communication unless you are a Buddha. But that’s a story for another time.

June 18: Leo Moon and Creative Shine

We are starting today with June eighteenth. And one of the notable things about June eighteenth is, first of all, the moon is in Leo. That means get your shine on, be creative, be yourself. Put yourself out there into the world. Get verbal, get expressive, be theatrical. Theatrical is a key word for Leo, in my opinion. You know, Leo is the rock star standing on the stage with the mic in their hand, and all eyes are on the Leo. All eyes are on the Leo.

So whenever the moon is in Leo, you get to embody that, that star power of all eyes are on you. Now, of course, everybody on the planet is embodying that at the exact same time because, hey, everybody gets the moon in Leo at the same time. But for those of you who have strong Leo in your chart, then that might shine a little bit more for you.

Chiron Enters Taurus: The Long-Term Theme

Another thing to note about what’s going on today is that we’re going to be having Chiron slipping into Taurus. This is a big... Whoa, look at that. That was a little bit excessive shine. I’m going to go now. We’re going to have Chiron slipping into Taurus over the next twenty-four hours.

I personally... there’s two things, three things that I really notice on a palpable, experiential, physical, embodied level, and one is when planets shift signs. Another is when planets go retrograde or station or direct. So then any planet shifting signs, you kind of get the experience of that pretty dramatically if you’re paying attention into what I like to call the vibrational manifestation of the interdependence of the planet’s archetypal energy into the world. If you know what I mean. Which I’m sure you do because you’re someone who appreciates what I put out into the world.

And that is happening with Chiron today over the next twenty-four hours. Chiron represents the wound in traditional astrology. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I say it represents the individuation because individuation is the greatest wound we experience.

If you’re an Abrahamic theologist, then you go with, “Well, Eve took a bite from the apple and discovered good and evil and then was cast out of the garden with Adam.” Now, that’s a little bit of a sexist way to put it out there. But the idea is that duality arose. And as duality arose, then we separated subject and object within our own conscious awareness, and we fell into samsara. And samsara is where we circle over and over again, experiencing wound after wound after wound. And that is the principle of Chiron.

Now, is this a bad thing? This is only a bad thing if you’re in a poor me state of mind because you’re feeling the suffering. Or as the Buddhists like to say, the suffering of suffering. Or maybe the suffering of anticipating suffering, or the suffering of knowing that the good thing you have right now is going to lose. There’s all kinds of sufferings that you can experience from the divided state of being a dualistic mind within the experience of the continuum of being, which is existence.

I’d get in trouble with the harder core Buddhists for that, because the harder core Buddhists say, “Well, there’s no being.” Like, if you get into Madhyamaka, they say, “Well, if there is a being, point to where being is, and you can’t point to where being is.” And so they disassemble the notion that there is a concept of being which creates a thetic state of experience. That’s more along the lines of where the Buddhists are coming from, and they call that timeless awareness. Now, I’ve brought that up twice now. Timeless awareness.

However, we’re not talking about timeless awareness here. We’re talking about individuation, and individuation in the sense not of dualistic self-clinging and poor me that we experience as we hurl ourselves through space and time, body after body in the continuum of what is called samsara. We’re talking about individuation in the sense of the personality that is unique to you or your own expression, whether it’s neurotic or whether it’s a wisdom expression that no one else has. That is Chiron.

Now, Chiron is moving out of Aries, the energy of that kind of like, get that energy out there, into the energy of Taurus, which is the how do I experience sensual, personal pleasure, delight, and enjoyment in being? That’s Chiron in Taurus. So that is your meditation for Chiron in Taurus.

How long is Chiron going to be in Taurus for? I have looked it up. Ooh, Chiron spends a long time in Taurus. Chiron is going to be in Taurus until May twenty thirty-four. So you have until then to meditate on the pleasure and the meditation of the experience of enjoying the being of life versus the previous eight years when it was in Aries and you’re meditating on what is your individual experience within life.

Now, think about that. COVID, right? Peak Chiron in Aries, we’re all locked as individuals in our houses experiencing the individuation and the wound of individuation on an energetic level just in our own heads. Aries rules the heads, so we’re in our own heads at that point in time. Okay, so we’re getting out of our heads and into our bodies over the next eight years. Maybe that has to do with new body science. Hey, I got a missing tooth. That has an implant there. Maybe we’re going to be growing teeth. I know they’re already growing teeth. So maybe there’s new ways of healing the body that are coming up over the next eight years. I love the idea.

Anyways, rather than just talking about Chiron and Aries, because this is a review of the upcoming week, all I’m saying is that palpably, maybe you notice that energy over the next twenty-four hours.

Hello, heart astrologers. Thank you so much for being supporters of Heart Astrology. This is the weekly forecast going out to everyone who is a subscribed member of Patreon or Substack.

Today we have a very auspicious conjunction with Venus conjunct Jupiter in Cancer. This is supposed to be a really good-feeling conjunction, and I know a few people aren’t having a good time or good feelings right now. This conjunction is also being mitigated by Mercury square Saturn, which creates difficulty in communications, especially when Saturn is in Aries. Saturn in Aries is the aspect of creating boundaries, working with anger, controlling anger, controlling one’s impulses, and controlling one’s emotions. This becomes especially apparent when it is squared with Mercury, where we’re trying to talk about what our emotional boundaries are, what our emotional pain is, what our emotional love is, and what our emotional richness is.

All of that is going on while we have this really benefic transit of Venus and Jupiter. By benefic, I mean good, especially in Cancer, because Jupiter is exalted in Cancer and Venus is the term ruler of Cancer. What that means is positive feelings and positive energy. However, at the same exact time, we have boundary issues. Both are happening simultaneously.

So you may be oscillating between the two. You may be getting one more than the other. It’s up to you. It’s how it plugs into your chart, as I explained on Substack and Instagram yesterday. One thing I do want to say is that this is a time for planting seeds because the Venus-Jupiter conjunction is kicking off a twelve-year cycle that will come to fruition and unfold between now and when Venus and Jupiter conjunct again in twelve years.
